Beth J. Singer is Professor of Philosophy and Chairperson of the Department of Philosophy at Brooklyn College of the City University of New York. Author and editor of several books, including volumes on George Santayana, Justus Buchler, and John Herman Randall, Jr., she has published papers on various figures and movements in American philosophy as well as on topics in metaphysics, social philosophy, the theory of judgment, and the theory of rights. She is a past president of the Society for the Advancement of American Philosophy.
