Mark Moyar is a Senior Fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute. He served as a Senior Fellow at the Joint Special Operations University, a consultant for U.S. Special Operations Command, and a professor at the Marine Corps University. The author of three previous books, including Triumph Forsaken, Moyar has written studies of special operations in Afghanistan, Colombia, and Mali and has been to Afghanistan five times during the war. He has written for the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post.
