商品簡介
Book 25 of the Res Gestae is the final part of Ammianus' trilogy on the Persian expedition under Roman emperor Julian, and the last in which Julian himself plays a leading part. It begins about 35 kilometers north of Ctesiphon, and proceeds more than 1,700 kilometers to Dadastana on the border between Galatia and Bithynia, between June 363 CE and February 364 CE. Boeft, J. W. Drijners, D. den Hengst, and H. C. Teitler comment on passages, lines, and even individual phrases in the text. Readers are expected to have a Latin edition at hand, and be able to read it.
