2017 begins the centennial celebrations of women first winning the right to vote, culminating in national suffrage three years later. This book documents the milestones in that hard won struggle and reflects on women's impact on politics since.
From pre-Revolution to the 2016 election,
REMEMBER THE LADIES documents the fight for women's right to vote. Drawing on historic research, biographies of those who fought, and such original sources as newspaper accounts and letters, it brings this often-forgotten struggle to a wide audience in an accessible, conversational, relevant manner.
It will be organized by key phases in the suffrage movement and include varied visual content: b&w photos, line art, simple charts and graphs and facsimiles of documents, posters, ads and buttons.
