A determined child goes the extra mile to try to cheer the lonely half moon
One night a young boy spies half a moon in the sky and wonders why it is it’s hiding up there. When the other half doesn’t show up, he knows it’s because the moon must be lonely! So he takes it upon himself to cheer up the moon, keeping it company night after night. Still the other half doesn’t appear, which only inspires him to try harder. He does all he can to lighten the moon’s spirits, bringing him tokens and treats—but even an ostrich wearing a sweater doesn't do the trick! Bit by bit, though, his persistence pays off, making the moon whole again, and gaining him a new friend.
