Flooding is a global phenomenon that claims countless lives worldwide each year. Beginning in 2008 at the Institution of Civil Engineers in London this book contains papers from the proceedings of the 5th conference in the successful series on Flood Recovery, Innovation and Response. When flooding occurs in populated areas, it can cause substantial damage to property as well as threatening human life.
