Dr. Fumihiko Seta is presently affiliated as Associate Professor at the University of Tokyo. He is associated with International Development & Regional Planning Unit in Tokyo University. His research interests are in planning and Governance for Depopulating Society, National and regional policy, especially related to industrial location and regional development, and Regional and urban planning in Asian countries and regions.?He has a keen interest on issues and planning related to developing country. He is also engaged in teaching and research works with executive professionals. He has authored many papers, book chapters on urban economic policies, creative cities and creative class.
Dr. Arindam Biswas is Assistant Professor at Department of Architecture and Planning, IIT Roorkee. He has Doctorate in Urban Planning from University of Tokyo, Master of City Planning from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, and Bachelor of Architecture from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. As a university selected student, he has received MEXT Scholarship by Government of Japan to pursue his PhD. He has also undertaken Certificate Program on International Environmental Leadership (Asian Program for Incubation of Environmental Leadership, APIEL) from University of Tokyo. His research specializations are on Inclusive Growth, Growth – Poverty – Inequality, Informal Settlement and Slum free City Planning, Ethics and Human Development, Policy Analysis and Governance Framework, and Smart & Futuristic City. With the constant transformation of cities, the urban issues keep on moving headway. Keeping the dynamism in practice, Dr. Biswas has also initiated work on research topics like Resilient City Planning and Urban Risk Assessment; and Creative Economy/ Knowledge Based Economy, and Network Analysis. He is passionate about writing on global, contemporary and emerging issues. He has presented many papers, and delivered lectures. He has also worked in profession for four years in the fields of Architectural Design, Urban design, Real Estate Development and Urban Planning. Personally he likes sports, travelling, photography, and making new friends.
