商品簡介
The series presents records of Baptist churches in the early North American European communities, this volume collecting records of the First Baptist Church, Boston from 1665 to 1807. This congregation was of critical importance in the development of the Baptist movement during the 17th century, says McKibbens, first in its immediate context in greater Boston, then in New England where it was the mother church for numerous congregations, and again as the root of the first Baptist congregation in Charleston, South Carolina. It was also the scene of the establishment of the Massachusetts Baptist Missionary Society and various voluntary causes in the early national period.
