商品簡介
Gil' examines norm estimates for operator-valued functions of one and two operator arguments, as well as their application to spectrum perturbations of operators and to linear operator problems--that is, to equations whose solutions are linear operators. The much-studied Sylvester equation is an example of such equations, he says, and linear equations arise in both mathematical theory and engineering practice. Among his topics are representations of solutions to operator equations, bounds for condition numbers of diagonalizable matrices, functions of a compact operator in a Hilbert space, regular functions of a bounded non-self-adjoint operator, and commutators and perturbations of operator functions.
