This book gathers the latest social science research on breastfeeding from the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia in order to show how the findings can be used by policymakers and practitioners to support women in breastfeeding and breastfeeding longer. It includes discussion of the social and cultural contexts of breastfeeding, as well as the daily practices of breastfeeding women, to highlight a range of ways of thinking about women’s experiences of breastfeeding and how it can be better supported in both policy and practice.
