商品簡介
Two documents fill the largest part of the volume. One is the oldest Vita of Saint Margaret of Hungary, written between 1272 and 1275 and the first edited by Kornél Böle. The other is the acts of the 110 testimonies of the second papal investigation concerning her sainthood, recorded between 23 July and 20 October 1276 and edited by Vilmos Fraknói. In addition to recording Margaret's life, they are the most valuable sources for religious beliefs and cloister life in 13th-century Hungary. Supplementing these texts are a number of minor documents related to medieval attempts to get Margaret canonized, including a recently discovered list of 15th-century miracles at her grave. All the texts are in Latin with facing pages of English translation. Annotation ©2018 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
