Feeling a sense of school belonging has been linked to better mental health outcomes in adolescents, increased school performance and greater retention rates. Comprised of six modules that explore connecting to parents, teachers, friends, self, learning and help, it can be used in an individual or group context, and also as a therapeutic tool or a prevention tool. Each module has an introductory section outlining how the module may be adapted to different contexts to ensure young people connect with and stay at school.
作者簡介
Dr Kelly Allen is an Educational and Developmental Psychologist, honorary fellow of the University of Melbourne and fellow of the College of Educational and Developmental Psychologists. Her work as a practitioner and academic has informed an avid interest in bridging research and practice in the field of school belonging.
Dr Peggy Kern is a faculty member at the Centre for Positive Psychology within the University of Melbourne’s Graduate School of Education. Her research examines who thrives in life, why, and strategies to support optimal development. You can find out more about Dr Kern’s work at www.peggykern.org.
