This 68th volume in the annual series provides bibliographical data on the most relevant linguistic publications from the calendar year 2017, as well as earlier publications that were not indexed in earlier volumes. Among the first-tier categories are general linguistics and related disciplines, inter-relationships between language families, Caucasian languages, and sign languages. The coverage has widened again this year, with the sections for African and Asian languages showing an especially significant increase. For that reason, the paper version cannot contain more than a selection of the material actually cited, the rest being available on Linguistic Bibliography Online.
