The Music Museum is the University of Edinburgh's first visitor attraction and the concert hall is a popular music venue in its own right, having been in continuous use since 1762. Comprising over 400 instruments from across the globe, the collection is housed in the newly refurbished Music Museum. Many of the instruments are still playable and through an established concert programme, St Cecilia's Hall is the only place in the world where it is still possible to hear eighteenth-century music performed on eighteenth-century instruments in an elegant eighteenth-century concert hall.
