Alister Jensen: The Case of the Engraved Ring

A thief enters Caspar DuBois' apartment at 1 AM through a window off the fire escape. His rummaging through a dresser drawer awakens Casper. A fight ensues in which the thief strikes Casper with a book end and then makes off with a new watch and a silver ring with a green emerald inset. Two detectives, Alister Jensen and Richard Hopkins, are assigned to the case. A police forensics team finds some incriminating evidence on the fire escape. The detectives interview DuBois, canvass the hock shops in Seattle, and then investigate the evidence found on the fire escape.
