Writing is an invaluable academic skill, but it is also much more than that. It is a tool for thinking, a means of personal expression, and a vehicle of self-discovery. Despite the intellectual, interpersonal, and psychological value of writing, however, too many students, and too many people in general, feel "shut out" of writing.

The goal of the "AI-proof" assignments in this book are not specifically to prevent students from "cheating," but to structure composition activities that engage students on personal and interpersonal levels.
