It's summer. The wildlife, down to the tiniest creature, is thriving. Millie, a pillbug, and her group of friends: Alfie - a ladybug; Ellie - a dragonfly; Holly - a spider; and Ruby - an ant, go about their daily lives. Millie feels like a bug apart. Unlike her friends, Millie needs to stay moist all the time, she doesn't pee like her friends, and she's the only vegetarian!
Absorbed with her own concerns, she's unable to recognize that her friends have problems, too. Eventually, with the support of her friends, she learns that she is a crustacean, not a bug, and she begins to see that her friends have their own fears and vulnerabilities. The bug world is often harsh.
