Il riferimento all'acqua nella toponomastica viaria della città di Roma

Le prime pagine sono dedicate a chiarire l'oggetto d'esame: non il nome dei fiumi o dei mari n?dei laghi; non l'acqua richiamata in antichi nomi familiari; n?quella delle fontane che di per s?potrebbero essere asciutte e non necessariamente contengono l'acqua. Per questa strada negativa che procede per esclusioni, si paleser?cos?un manipolo di strade che invece effettivamente richiama il vitale elemento liquido, difficile a contenersi, che sa trovare da s?una strada non costretta, sfugge, appare e riappare seguendo una propria ragione non umana. Abstract - English Taking into account the specificities that, due to millennia of history, distinguish the toponymy of the city of Rome, this paper aims at highlighting the names of the Roman road network which refer to water. The first pages are devoted to clarifying the object of examination: not the name of rivers or seas or lakes; not the water referred to in ancient family names; nor that of fountains, which in themselves may be dry and do not necessarily contain water. Along this negative path which proceeds by exclusion, a handful of roads will thus appear, recalling the vital liquid element, difficult to contain, which knows how to find its own unconstrained way, which escapes, appears and reappears following its own non-human reason.
