商品簡介
Philosophy of Science and Endogenous Development: Integrating Knowledge Systems for Sustainable Growth explores the integration of indigenous knowledge systems with modern scientific methods to foster sustainable growth, particularly in African development. It critiques the limitations of Western scientific paradigms and advocates for the inclusion of local epistemologies to address global development challenges. Through the lens of the philosophy of science, the book examines key questions around objectivity, truth, and universality and contrasts Western traditions with indigenous knowledge systems. It offers a framework for integrating these diverse approaches and argues for endogenous development, rooted in local knowledge, cultural values, and community-driven processes, as a sustainable alternative to exogenously driven models. The book also deconstructs the colonial legacy of Western science, advocating for a pluralistic approach to development. Serving as both a theoretical text and practical guide, it provides scholars, students, and practitioners with a comprehensive framework for sustainable, inclusive, and culturally appropriate development.
