The plot thickens as Annie and her group recruit Tom and Beth to help them return home and defeat the enemies threatening their kingdom. However, strange magical occurrences continue to escalate, putting the children in increasing danger. Throughout the story, there's a growing sense that Tom is more than just an ordinary boy. He possesses untapped powers that may be crucial in saving both Annie's world and his own.
