What is to come? You have the most peculiar, uneasy feeling. Something (Someone?)
approaching. You step into a tent and take a seat at the far end of the table. At the center
lies a crystal ball, some scattered crystals, and a deck of cards. A Fortune-Teller appears as
if mist itself solidified into this living and breathing person. "Was this the presence?" you
wonder.
"No," they reply as if you had shouted your thoughts to the rooftops, "There is more -
there is another- there are others. Gather 'round and witness your past, present, but most
of all your future. All we need is one card to seal your fate. Your glory or your doom. Shall
we proceed?"
Welcome to Edict Augur
Edict Augur is a rules-light system primarily designed for survival horror but it can be adapted for
any setting you would like. In this game, you will define the core aspects of your character and
embark on a survival adventure led by a Fortune-Teller (Gamemaster, henceforth referred to as
the FT).
At key moments, the FT will draw a card from a Tarot deck and interpret its meaning, weaving the
outcome into the story. A guide for card interpretations is provided later in this document. Players
have limited means to alter fate-but doing so comes at a personal cost.
