商品簡介
The pages of this book bring alive to the reader how the continent of Africa has been ripped apart over the past 100 years by ethnic violence due to the politicization of ethnicity and ethnic group dominance over the individual. The author, drawing on the thoughts of Danish philosopher, S ren Kierkegaard, proposes a path toward a peaceful solution through the process of education, where individuals can rise above blind loyalties to the faceless group and begin to take responsibility within and for their communities. This work demonstrates how a practical and achievable solution to societal ills can arise out of a sound philosophical framework. The first edition of this book has been translated into several international languages and it is a clear indication of the relevance of the book for the minds that seek and work for true freedom. The book is recommended to scholars, educators, policymakers, and, above all, to those who seek not only to understand the problem of ethnic conflicts but also to participate in the healing of a wounded world - one awakened individual at a time.
