The purpose of this article is to investigate the application of the planning principle in public works contracts in the Department of Putumayo, analyzing specific cases in which cost overruns, delays and unfinished works have occurred. Based on the review of these cases, we seek to propose solutions that allow a more efficient and effective management of public resources, in order to avoid the deficiencies observed in the administration of projects. To this end, the importance of adequate planning is identified and technological approaches are explored, such as the use of advanced tools to optimize the administration of public contracts, thus contributing to greater transparency and control in the execution of public works in the region.
