Ever since Richard and Laurrana met in college, they have been on a twin flame journey, but on October 10, 2022, Richard had a sudden G.I. bleed and died in the emergency room. Without being told, Laurrana knew he was gone. She recognized the signs from thirty years as a hospice coordinator, but more because she felt her heart break open. "I am a widow," she thought.
As the staff made heroic efforts to bring him back, Laurrana witnessed something that defies medical explanation. Then, Richard gasped in the mighty breath of life. When Richard emerged from a coma days later, he brought back stunning new knowledge.
This is the story of what he learned in the time between breaths. It is a hopeful message for our day when so many are burdened by a turbulent world.
It is also about navigating life after trauma. While Richard returned blissed-out and "in love with love," Laurrana carried the weight of caregiving. Together, they navigated their way forward, learning to compassionately embrace the new versions of themselves that emerged through their shared experience.
