商品簡介
Deforestation caused by human activities can lead to the fragmentation of natural forests, loss of biodiversity and the extinction of species. In this context, the captive breeding of non-human primates (NHPs) emerges as a promising option for the conservation and management of species threatened with extinction due to the destruction of their natural habitat. However, keeping animals in captivity can lead, amongst other significant changes, to stereotyped behaviour resulting from stress. Such changes stem mainly from the absence of environmental enrichment programmes designed to ensure the animals' physical and psychological well-being. Consequently, the aim of this study was to assess the feeding and anti-predatory behaviour of a group of six captive-born Saguinus niger individuals.
