These adventures take place in twelfth century Turkey, which means about 900 years ago. You will see village streets, busy marketplaces, inns for travelers, town squares, and mountain paths. Life looked different then, but people still had the same kinds of feelings we have today: hunger, pride, kindness, anger, worry, and hope.
Because these stories come from a place and time where Islam was an important part of daily life, this book speaks about it with respect. You may see characters praying, saying kind words about God, and living by traditions that mattered deeply to their community.
