When I started my career in administration many years ago, I was encouraged to document the events around me with the idea that I might someday write a book. I genuinely wish I had paid more attention. So many things have happened over the years that I've forgotten. Nevertheless, I decided to write a book offering insights into school administration and leadership. My goal is to provide some insight to anyone considering entering school leadership and those who have been at it for years.
I'm sure many who have sat down to write have asked themselves the same question. I have enjoyed over forty years in education, and while some may view my years as an administrator as primarily focused on leadership, I often reflect on my time before college and my early years as a teacher and coach. My goal is to provide leadership tips for those in education, specifically focusing on school administration. However, I believe that professionals in various fields can also apply the insights shared in this book.
What gives me the right to write this book? Honestly, nothing in particular. Who has the right to write any book? My experiences may be beneficial to others. Over the years, I've attended numerous conferences where educational leaders discussed retirement and the valuable knowledge, they would take with them bothered me. By writing this book, I hope to share some of that knowledge and support others in their journeys. ___________Alan B.
