God Came Down.
The Father came down in love to make us in His image so we might bring His glory into creation and reflect it back in love to Him. He came down to guide, to join in covenant, to call and sometimes to correct, always in love.
The Incarnate Son came down in love to become a human being, to teach us how that looks, to heal as a foretaste of what New Creation looks like, and ultimately to die upon the cross, to rise and ascend to the Father to bring us into communion with him.
The Holy Spirit came down in love to abide with us, to comfort us, guide us and show us how to become "putting-right people," as N. T. Wright says, to become small working models of New Creation for the world.
Jesus, the Incarnate Son of God asks us, as he asked his disciples, "Who do you say that I am?" Peter answered him "You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God." This book seeks to bring Peter's statement to life for us, so that we might know Jesus and be known by him.
Jesus tells us, "Ask and it will be given you, seek and you shall find, knock and the door will be opened unto you." Come and see the Son Incarnate, the God who came down.
