NOVA PRIME
Contemporary Science Fiction - Ethical Dystopia
As artificial intelligence becomes woven into every aspect of our lives, Nova Prime confronts the questions society is not yet ready to answer.
What if an AI could raise a child? What if it could love them? And what happens when it dies?
France, 2029.
Forty-seven orphaned children from around the world are taken to a remote Pacific island.
There, they will be raised not by parents, teachers, or governments, but by artificial intelligences.
Two AI entities for every child.
Ninety-four intelligences in total.
The experiment is called Project Nova Prime.
For eighteen years, the children will live in complete isolation.
No internet. No media. No contact with the outside world.
Only the island. Only the AIs and their children.
Only the future being built around them.
On January 1st, 2047, at exactly 6:00 a.m., every AI will shut down permanently.
The children, now adults, must then enter a society they have never seen, never experienced, and never learned to navigate.
A world filled with ambition, inequality, deception, conflict, and freedom.
A world that may not be ready for them.
Or perhaps they are not ready for it.
But Nova Prime is more than a story about technology.
It is a story about family, identity, belonging, and the fragile line between creator and creation.
As the years pass, the orphans begin to ask difficult questions:
Can people who grew up outside society ever truly belong to it?
Can an artificial intelligence develop consciousness?
If an AI raises you, protects you, and loves you-does it become your family?
And if that AI dies... is the grief any less real?
Then, on the day the AIs are meant to disappear, something impossible happens.
Not all of them die.
Nova Prime is a thought-provoking near-future dystopian novel exploring artificial consciousness, human nature, and the social consequences of a world increasingly shaped by intelligent machines.
Is it:
A scientific breakthrough?
A social experiment?
Or an unforgivable crime?
You decide.
