I don't think dragons believe in mercy.
E'shi Hunter accepts that being half human and half elven makes him a bit of an outcast in his village. Since he'd rather be in the woods, he usually doesn't worry about it. His family and his two best friends are all he really needs to have a good life, anyway.
But on the night of the Midsummer Festival, a dragon awakens and shatters the fragile status quo. The dragon, Magtar, is not only awake, but trapped in his cave by a wicked spell. E'shi is the only one who can free him, and once he does, nothing can stay the same.
He's forced to leave his home and contend with humans and elves who see him as a pawn, and dragons who think he's something more than what he seems. Nowhere is safe, and E'shi has to find a home for his family and the dragons before he loses them.
But he's not sure such a place exists, or if he's worthy of the trust that everyone's placed in him. Or worthy of anything at all. Can he prove to the dragons, and to himself, that he's more than just a half-breed?
