Poetry and memoirs are written by someone with a love of words and treasured memories. Many of these poems have mele(melodies) put to them and hula choreographed to them and have been danced to by women in a hula school founded in 1991 by Anita and her sister, Haunani, or by children at the elementary school where Anita taught. As that someone who loves words, I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoyed writing it.
