本書作者宗喀巴大師根據馬鳴菩薩名著《上師五十頌》，撰寫《《上師五十頌》廣疏：滿足弟子一切希願》，內容主要是講述身為弟子者應如何承事自己的上師—金剛阿闍黎—之理。這部收錄在「至尊宗喀巴大師文集」第一函，即No. 010/KA010《《上師五十頌》廣疏：滿足弟子一切希願》。根據No. 001/KA001《至尊上師宗喀巴大師稀有殊勝傳記：正信入門》的記載，此時宗喀巴大師約45歲（1401）前往嘎瓦東時，宗大師應屯珠傑波瓦、札悉仁欽巴及嘉秋悲桑波之請所述，筆錄者為賈曹傑大師。本書特色：★ 新譯宗喀巴大師著作《《上師五十頌》廣疏：滿足弟子一切希願》。★ 新譯《上師五十頌》。由於《上師五十頌》的漢譯譯文與藏譯出入頗多，而漢譯的每句五言與藏譯的每句七音節差異也大。譯者廖本聖老師為了配合《《上師五十頌》廣疏：滿足弟子一切希願》的引用與解釋，因此本書根據藏譯本《上師五十頌》新譯，並附上對應的藏譯製作藏漢對照《上師五十頌》，置於《廣疏》之前，便於讀者參考。
