本書包括8個單元。每個單元教學內容分為5個主要部分，建議8學時完成。各學校可根據需要和學生水平，有選擇性地教學。每單元第一部分Starter為整個單元的導入部分，提供與單元主題相關的詞匯，讓學生按照具體要求對詞匯進行歸類，激活學生已有的背景知識，引入單元主題。第二部分Part A為主課文模塊，其導入部分包括觀看一段與Text A主題相關的視頻進行聽寫填空以及擴展討論兩個循序漸進的任務。課文配套練習設計包括Comprehension of the Text，Language Focus，Reading in Depth，Translation（包括句子和段落翻譯）和Interaction。其中Interaction部分為口語練習，旨在讓學生回憶所學與單元主題有關的單詞及相關知識，引導學生逐步深入思考問題，並有意識地使用句型，在自由討論環節鼓勵學生自由表達想法。第三部分Part B為副課文模塊，其導入部分為聽一段與Text B主題相關的聽力材料，然後完成填空練習。課文配套練習設計包括Comprehension of the Text，Language Focus和Translation，這三部分練習與Text A配套的相應練習均有所不同。第四部分為Part C Skill Development，包括Writing和Workshop兩部分。Writing部分由Video-based Writing與Practical Writing兩部分組成。Video-based Writing主題與單元主題一致，旨在讓學生通過看懂視頻，從而將其中的一些觀點應用於寫作。Practical Writing為實用英語寫作。Workshop部分為課外學習項目，旨在以電腦和網絡等為工具，培養學生探究型自主學習的能力，並與同學合作完成一些與單元主題相關的調研任務。第五部分為Reading Skills and Cultural Links。Reading Skills部分旨在介紹常見的英語文章閱讀技巧，幫助學生更快、更好地理解文章；Cultural Links部分旨在幫助學生更多、更深入地瞭解西方文化。
