Developmental social work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaborations and believes it can accurately respond to the issues and the needs of our society. Therefore, more and more non-profit organizations are involved in this field. In Taiwan, the recent social issues, such as the poverty of young adults and the Long-term Care, all indicate a need for fresh thoughts and working methods. This study tests the factors of transaction costs (TC) and resource-based views (RBV) to explain the MNEs’ entry decisions in China. By using large firm-level data from China, I show in this paper that variables related to internal uncertainty (e.g., management) and firm-specific assets tend to affect MNEs’ entry decisions in a way that is consistent with the transaction cost logic; that is, the higher degree of internal uncertainty, the MNEs may require more control over the foreign facilities or the JV. On the other hand, those variables related to external uncertainty (e.g., marketing) and intangible assets tend to conform to the resource-based view, which means higher external uncertainty would cause the MNEs to leverage the resources or local experience of local partners. This suggests that MNEs may need complementary resources from local partners to reduce the external uncertainty and enhance the value of their intangible resources.

Li shang wanglai is a phrase that combines practice and principle. It is what others have discussed as Confucianism. But it is the summation of what is practised in daily life and without the leadership of an elite intelligentsia. With this phrase the author has brought together what had been separately discussed: the social philosophy of bao (asymmetrical reciprocity), the central importance of mianzi and lian (face), the moral economy of renqing (human relationships of fellow-feeling), the art of making guanxiwang (social networks), and much else. She shows how they work together in what might be called a discursive constellation. Using sociological and anthropological theorisations of reciprocal relations in China and Japan, she creates a framework of four dimensions, namely, principled rational calculation, human-feeling, moral, and religious, and four kinds of relationships, namely, instrumental, expressive, negative and generous.

The Tropic of Cancer Sustainability Belt Sustainability is a global trend, and a global lingua franca. How can Taiwan use sustainability to tell our story on an international stage? How can Taiwan create a sustainability brand that is equipped with a global perspective? The National Park Service (NPS) considers the Tropic of Cancer a great place to start. By connecting the dots of Taiwan’s mountain resources, ocean resources, and sustainability partners into a line, and then making that line into a belt, we can turn the Tropic of Cancer – which many think of as just a bunch of geographic markers – into a whole new window for getting to know Taiwan. As the 180km north-south Tropic of Cancer Belt crosses Taiwan, it crosses coasts, wetlands, foothills, high mountains, oceans, cities, and villages. 本章探討「價值共創」（Value Co-creation, VCC）在跨域創新生態系中的應用， 並提出協助企業實現可持續發展的策略。隨著人工智慧（Artificial Intelligence, AI） 技術的進步和 VUCA（Volatility [易變性 ]、Uncertainty [不確定性]、Complexity [複雜性]、Ambiguity [模糊性]）環境的加劇，企業面臨前所未有的挑戰與機會。為了在激烈的市場競爭中保持持久優勢，跨域協作成為推動創新、擴展市場及提升競爭力的關鍵策略。跨域協作的多重益處包括資源共享與優勢互補、風險分擔、促進產品創新、進入新市場，並提升企業形象和品牌價值。 然而，跨域創新生態系同時也帶來如文化差異、資訊不對稱、利益共享和技術融合等挑戰。為了應對這些挑戰並抓住機會，企業需在跨域創新生態系中採取一系 列策略，如建立適切的協作機制與互信關係、優化資源配置、強化策略靈活性、促 進持續學習與成長、支持 ESG（Environmental [環境保護]、Social [社會責任]及 Governance [公司治理]）與可持續發展目標，以及運用跨域價值共創模式。這些策 略不僅有助於提升企業的競爭力，亦能促進企業的可持續發展。
