在全球範圍內廣泛開展的PBL（Problem Based Learning）為問題的解決提供了有效的方案。簡言之，PBL就是基於問題的教學模式。這種教學模式擯棄了傳統的以教師為中心的教學理念，強調以學生為中心，倡導將學習置於真實的情境之中，讓學生通過合作，學習隱藏在問題背後的科學知識，解決實際問題。PBL可使學生從被動的信息接收者轉變為主動的學習者和問題解決者，教學的重點也由“教”轉移到了“學”，使學生能夠在面對並解決實際問題的過程中學到新的理論和知識，提升學生的終身學習和實踐能力。 盡管PBL教學模式已得到國內眾多的教師的青睞，但多數教師對此了解的不夠深入，雖有意願將其運用於自身的教學實踐之中，但卻不知如何著手，因為時至今日，國內尚無一本通用的PBL教程。基於此，我們擬結合自身的學習與教學實踐，編著一本通用的闡述PBL教學模式的指導性教材，以推進我國PBL的教改實踐，提升復合型人才的培養水平和能力。 本書的主要內容包括：PBL的內涵與特徵、PBL的基本要素、PBL的優勢與價值、PBL的思想淵源與理論基礎、PBL的發展歷程及其在中國的機遇和挑戰、PBL的基本教學流程、PBL的基礎教學設計以及PBL教學設計實例等。
