商品簡介
An admirable chronicle sharing the experiences of young scholars conducting historical field research in Africa. The ten papers field academic questions of methodology and relevancy, but are most interesting for their anecdotal descriptions of how each "student" lived and his or her particular engagement with the community, experiences that range from having a newly laid roof stolen in the middle of the night to being shadowed by security police and accused of witchcraft. The stories are adventures not available to most people, valuable for their wit and intelligence. Annotation c. by Book News, Inc., Portland, Or.
