RICHARD BRADFORD is Professor of Literary History and Theory at the University of Ulster. He has written well-reviewed biographies of both Philip Larkin and Kingsley Amis, as well as several introductory student books including Introducing Literary Studies (Harvester Wheatsheaf), Stylistics (New Critical Idiom Series, Routledge), A Linguistic History of English Poetry (Routledge) and The Complete Critical Guide to John Milton (Routledge). He is also the editor of two forthcoming Palgrave books, Teaching Theory (publishing 2008) and Poetry: An Introduction (forthcoming 2009).
