Who belongs in the canon? It seems that question should be "what belongs in the canon," but it is obvious the first question is the one most often asked. In this collection of eight essays contributors seek transactional dialog, critical imagination and willingness to go to new discursive spaces where both lived embodiment and situational history inform. Along the way they work on yet another question, which is who constitutes the "philosophical we," accepting multiple philosophical voices from a range of identities. Topics include explanations of feminist, lesbian, queer, African, Afro-Caribbean, Latin American, American Indian and Asian American philosophy, explaining the complex concerns about the canon and its relationship with gendered, sexed, racial and ethnic identities.
