商品簡介
This collection of letters and other primary documents, excerpts from biographies and critical analyses, and images gives readers access to a range of contexts germane to the Bronte's lives and work. The six chapters of the book are arranged to focus separately on the four children of Maria and Patrick Bronte who survived into adulthood--Branwell, Anne, Emily, and Charlotte--with additional introductory and summary chapters elaborating the biographical and cultural contexts of their work. Placing written texts together with b&w historical illustrations of the authors and photos of the places where they lived, along with specimens of original manuscripts and dust jackets of published editions of the authors' work, is especially appropriate for the Brontes, since they were all drawn to the visual as well as verbal expression.
