Principles of Map Design

Still, there are principles that remain sound whatever the technology, she explains, and these are her concern. She walks students through map design, the geographic and cartographic framework, symbolization, non-traditional mapping, and the critique of maps. Specific topics include text material and typography, the Earth's graticule and projections, multivariate mapping, continuity and change in the computer era, and putting it all together.
