商品簡介
This book explores changes in global transformations in consumption and transportation and the economic, social, environmental, and cultural forces that are changing rural environments. The intent is to provide a deeper, "...more theoretically sophisticated consideration of the various forces and features of rural tourism development." While the book specifically addresses Canada, it is extremely likely that many of the global and local rural elements of the discussion would apply anywhere. Significant issues discussed include sustainable tourism and the role of policy, as well as the involvement of community in tourism planning. Authors are George (tourism and hospitality management, Mount Saint Vincent U.), Mair (recreation and leisure studies, U. of Waterloo), and Reid (environmental design and rural development, U. of Guelph).
