商品簡介
Ulster-Scots is an emotionally charged term referring to the Protestants of Scottish heritage living in Northern Ireland. Ferguson, of the Institute of Ulster Scots Studies at the University of Ulster, has two goals in this anthology. The first is to present the wide range of Ulster-Scots literature, from the seventeenth century to the present. The second is to define the term in a non-political context. The work of each author is prefaced by a short biography and discussion of how he or she fits into the Ulster-Scots tradition. Selections are both poetry and prose using both Ulster-Scots dialect and Standard English. This is a comprehensive volume of a rarely studied literary tradition. Distributed in the US by ISBS.
