Joerges (U. of Bremen, Germany) and Petersmann (European U. Institute at Florence, Italy) present a revised and expanded version of Constitutionalism, Multilevel Trade Governance and Social Regulation and with the changed title come significant changes in content. While the interdisciplinary analyses of constitutionalism, judicialization, participatory governance, and legalization patterns as they manifest in international trade law and the six case studies of transnational governance arrangements for product safety and other social regulation have been retained from the first edition, the latter parts of the first edition have now been replaced by chapters with a broader focus on the systemic and methodological problems of international economic regulation, discussing approaches to international economics law from the perspectives of conflicts law, global administrative law, public international law, and multilevel constitutionalism, as well as other methodological problems of international economic law.
