Now retired, Judah (Jordan Applied Technology Center, Sandy, Utah) devoted 45 years to a career as a veterinary technician specializing in exotic animal medicine. Her second-edition textbook has been expanded to provide a more in-depth discussion of the defined roles, duties, and responsibilities of the veterinary office staff, including veterinary technicians, receptionists, and veterinary assistants. It includes greater emphasis on cross-training and interpersonal communication skills, along with new and/or expanded coverage of health and safety issues for staff and the public, the use and application of computers in the practice, the euthanasia process, veterinary ethics, and treating and possession of wildlife.
