Making it Better for Boys in Schools, Families and Communities

With the advent of extended services, schools find themselves as the nucleus in the cell of our society. They have access to and huge potential for impact on the families they serve, the broader community and the young people, especially the boys, in their care. Making it Better for Boys in Schools, Families and Communities aims to empower the professionals in schools to make changes in the classroom and in the broader life of the school in order to make life better for boys and for our schools and their communities. The book looks at the many issues that affect boys' learning and behaviour and, through research and practical suggestions, shows how school communities can be 'agents of change' for how teachers, parents, boys themselves, and society perceive boys.
