商品簡介
As many parts of the world are experiencing or are expected to experience a rapid "graying" of their populations, combined with the economic turmoil that began in 2008, the role and sustainability of pensions has come into question. These nine essays look at several myths about pensions and their accounting, defined benefit plans, pension regulation, how pensions are financed and the question of privatization vs. socialization. Pension systems from several different countries are considered, including Ireland, the United States, Australia, Denmark, and the United Kingdom. The essays were originally presented at the annual conference of the European Network of Supplementary Researchers in 2009. No other biographical information is offered about the contributors. Each essay contains a bibliography and most use graphs and tables to support their arguments. No index has been provided.
