SONJA DROBNIC is Professor of Sociology/Social Science Research Methods at the University of Hamburg, Germany. Her research interests include social inequalities in the household and in the labour market, social networks and social capital, issues in social stratification, and quality of life and work. Her previous publications include the co-authored books Careers of Couples in Contemporary Societies: From Male Breadwinner to Dual-Earner Families and Dividing the Domestic. Men, Women and Household Work in Cross-National Perspective.
ANA M. GUILLEN is Professor of Sociology at the University of Oviedo, Spain, where she teaches comparative social policy. She has written extensively on welfare state development, health policy and comparative social policy. She is co-editor of Quality of Work in the European Union: Concept, Data and Debates from a Transnational Perspective.
