商品簡介
Roberts, a former English teacher, and Billings, a former secondary teacher, both associated with the National Paideia Center, demonstrate how the Paideia Seminar approach, a collaborative intellectual dialogue facilitated with open-ended questions about a text, can teach students to think critically about texts. They describe what happens as students learn to participate in a formal seminar discussion, the steps of the seminar, how speaking and listening can be taught, how independent and interdependent thought are related to each other, how to assess the quality of the dialogue, and an example of a seminar. A video clip is provided on the companion website. There is no index. Annotation c2012 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
