The 14 articles presented in this volume were selected as the best papers from the sixth Consumer Culture Theory (CCT) Conference held at Northwestern U., Illinois. The conference organizers, who served also as co-editors, are affiliated as follows: Ken Grayson (Northwestern U.), Albert M. Muniz, Jr. (DePaul U.), and Hope Jensen Schau (U. of Arizona. Russell W. Belk (York U., Canada) is the editor for the Research in Consumer Behavior series, of which this is volume 13. Contributors are affiliated with economics departments in Europe primarily, with a few from elsewhere. Topics are varied and include, for example: foodies resisting the cultural authority of the market, a typology of consumption communities, everyday dinner consumption among single mothers, and how Facebook facilitates the breaking of social norms.
