This yearbook is an extensive and detailed collection of articles on the current state of ocean and coastal governance, management, and knowledge. As in previous editions, it addresses policy, international relations, comparative and international law, management, marine sciences, economics, and social sciences. Specific topics include: the law of the sea and ocean governance, ocean governance for marine conservation, polar oceans governance, coastal and ocean planning and management, maritime transport and security, and education and training. Also included are a selection of relevant book reviews. The yearbook is a collaborative project of the International Ocean Institute and the Marine & Environmental Law Institute at the Schulich School of Law, Dalhousie University, Canada.
